The regional police station of women and childhood in Manouba revealed that 65 anarchic spaces devoted to childhood were definitively closed in 2022.
During the same period, 140 anarchic spaces were detected, among them, some regularized their situation while others intentionally stopped their activities, the same source told the TAP.
Land inspections have indicated that these are spaces that receive and welcome children without acquiring a license and without compliance with the provisions of the specifications governing the sector. Most of these spaces are found in the delegations of Daouar Hicher and Oued Ellil, according to the same source.
Manouba’s governorate has 421 institutions devoted to childhood including 182 children’s nurseries, 215 daycare centres and 12 kindergartens, frequented by nearly 12 thousand children.
