The spokesperson for the Independent Higher Authority for Elections, Mohamed Tlili Mansri, told Mosaïque FM that the voter turnout in the referendum was unsatisfactory but stayed logical given the tight schedule and the organization of this deadline in the middle of summer.
On another level, Mansri said that the total number of participants in the vote amounts to 2830094, or 30.5% of the electorate and that this figure surpasses that announced by the polling firms. “If we only take into account the number of voluntarily registered voters, the abstention rate during the referendum is equal to those registered during the last elections organized by the ISIE”, he concluded.
