Arguments and proof are growing of the conspiracy of workers and agents of the departments under the Ministry of Finance in leaking the details of tax declarations and annual incomes of Mahdi bin Gharbia, which was issued by the Thaoura News gang to the public through Facebook on Saturday, October 9, 2021, reads a second statement by Mehdi Ben Gharbia’s Defence team.
The same gang had previously posted on Facebook on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, affirming that Ben Gharbia’s corporate group will undergo a tax audit. The next day, the Tax Litigation units actually conducted an audit.
The defence committee additionally questioned where the inquiries relating to the accusations of extortion and blackmail against their client (50,000 dinars) reached, denouncing at the same time the slowness registered against the “record” speed of the investigations directed against Mehdi Ben Gharbia, condemning what they described as “two-tier” justice system, adds the same source.
