President of the Republic, Kais Saïed, welcomed this Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Carthage palace, the Minister of Interior, Taoufik Charfeddine, who was accompanied by the director general of the National Security, Mourad Saïdane.
The meeting was concentrated on the general situation in the country and on the activity of the different central, regional and local directions under the Ministry of the Interior, the Presidency of the Republic said in a press release.
The Head of State focused his attention on the battle against the various forms of crime with total respect for the law, the same press release said.
It was likewise an opportunity to evoke the phenomenon of irregular migration which recently amplified and which caused several catastrophes, like what occurred in Zarzis.
The President of the Republic remarked, in this context, that these sorts of disasters would not have taken place, if their causes had been treated in time, confirming that it is impossible to find real solutions at the national level and that It was required to put in place a whole approach to this phenomenon which causes the death of thousands of souls in several regions of the world.
“This requires collaboration between countries with an influx of migrants. Irregular migration networks surpass the borders of the countries and a common effort is necessary, not only that of a single country. But despite this, we must apply The law without discrimination, “said the President of the Republic.
