Tunisia-Minister of Higher Education and German ambassador discuss launching Tunisian-German University

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Olfa Bennouda and German ambassador to Tunisia Peter Prügel, on Wednesday, examined the creation of the Tunisian-German University.

The meeting concentrated on approaches to intensify bilateral partnership in the field of higher education and scientific research, says a statement by the Ministry.

It was determined to set up a joint commission to speed up the implementation of the Tunisian-German university project in Tunisia.

Importance was placed on supporting Tunisia’s accession to the “Horizon Europe” project, as well as increasing cooperation in the field of student and teacher mobility between the two countries in the framework of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

The Tunisian-German University project will cost about 175 million dinars. Its capacity is calculated at 3000 students and includes bachelor, master and PhD levels, Director General of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Malek Kochlaf previously told TAP.

The inauguration of the Tunisian-German University was scheduled for the academic year 2020 – 2021
