The president of the parliamentary commission on agriculture, Moez Belhaj Rhouma affirmed on Friday January 22, 2021, on the national radio, that there is a vast quantity of spoiled rice as well as other foodstuffs such as coffee. and milk, stored at the port of Radès”s warehouse.
“130,000 tonnes of damaged rice, 120,000 tonnes of spoiled coffee and 22,000 liters of expired milk are deposited in Rades warehouses. We have discovered that the containers transporting foodstuffs have taken on water, which is why they have become rotten (…) Furthermore, a large number of rotten potatoes were imported from Egypt ”, noted the MP, indicating that the report of the parliamentary committee was working to make the minister involved responsible for the imports carried out during the exercise of his functions.
Moez Belhaj Rhouma alleged that an anti-dust mite treatment was done for 2,000 tons of rice, calling on the Ministry of Health and the Consumer Defense Organization to intervene.
