Tunisia-Nabil Ammar inaugurates Tunisian-Burkinabe Economic Forum

Mr. Nabil Ammar, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, and Mr. Serge Poda, Burkina Faso’s Minister for Industrial Development, Trade, Traditional Industries and Small and Medium Enterprises, inaugurated the Tunisian-Burkinabe Economic Forum in the presence of a large delegation of Tunisian businessmen (10) led by Mr Samir Majoul, President of the Tunisian Union of Industry, Trade and Crafts, and a large delegation of Burkina Faso businessmen (90),reads a press release from the foreign MIntry.
Minister Ammar said that the organisation of this forum reflects the willingness of economic operators in both countries to explore new opportunities for cooperation in vital sectors such as energy, communication technologies and tourism, and to take advantage of the benefits offered by the accession of both countries to the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).
The Minister stressed that Tunisia, which believes in South-South cooperation, seeks to further support it and aspires to elevate economic relations with Burkina Faso to the best levels based on mutual benefit, believing in the importance of such cooperation to meet the challenges of peace, security and development. He also stressed the Tunisian government’s keenness to encourage and facilitate trade exchanges between the two countries and create a favourable climate for investment by facilitating administrative procedures, calling on businessmen in both countries to take advantage of this event to forge strong partnerships and invest in innovative projects that contribute to the prosperity of both countries.
During the forum, bilateral meetings (B2B) were organised between economic operators from both countries and a cooperation agreement was signed between the Tunisian Union of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA) and the Business Confederation of Burkina Faso, which will establish fruitful future cooperation to the benefit of both parties.
It should be noted that this forum witnessed the participation of several Tunisian economic actors representing the following sectors: Enterprises and major projects, health, tourism, industry, communication technologies, and the export of health services.
