Presidential nominee Nabil Karoui announced that he will wait for the Independent High Authority for the Elections (ISIE) to declare the official results of the second qualifying round of the presidential elections take the appropriate positions after conferring with the party’s base and its political bureau.
He said that his party will be in the opposition, however, they will not stand opposite programmes introduced by the winning party if they are in line with his electoral program.
He added that his party will give way to those who obtained the legislative elections to execute their programmes and build the government.
Karoui said the process is still ahead as his party represents the second bloc in the parliament, adding that heart of Tunisia will strive to attain union in the upcoming period to protect its principles and achieve the goals of one million voters who gave the party their confidence, reported the TAP agency .
He added that the presidential election “cannot be described as a bright event because of the abuse and harassment that ended with his imprisonment for nearly 50 days and prevented him from campaigning and his release 48 hours before the polling date.”
