National Chamber of café owners spokesman and vice-president Sadri Ben Azzouz declared that 2,000 cafes have shut down following the latest restrictive measures put in place.
Speaking on private radio, Mr Ben Azzouz said that 50,000 operators in this sector were left without jobs, explaining nevertheless that some employees were able to recover their jobs after the curfew was introduced at 10 p.m. instead of 7 p.m.
He further called for the curfew to be set at midnight during the month of Ramadan.
