The national production of crude oil stood at 358 Kilotonnes (Kt) late in March 2023, registering a drop of 18% compared to the same period of 2022, the National Observatory of Energy and Mines under the Industry Ministry said on Tuesday.
The decline affected most of the main fields, namely Halk el Manzel which entered production in 2021 (-59%), Ashtart (-37%), El borma (-15%), M.L.D (-32%), Adam (-16%), Cherouq (-31%), El Hajeb / Guebiba (-16%) and Miskar (-10%).
On the other hand, other fields reported an improvement in production, namely the oil fields of Gherib (+38%), Hasdrubal (+5%) and Cercina (+2%).
Regarding the national demand for petroleum products, it declined between late in March 2022 and late March 2023 by 4% to stand at 1081 kilotonnes of oil equivalent (ktoe).
