Speaking to a private Radio, The New UK Ambassador to Tunisia Edward Oakden maintained he perceives potential in UK-Tunisia trade relationships that merit to be exploited.
According to him, Brexit appears to be an excellent chance for the two countries to enhance bilateral trade relations, evoking that the United Kingdom has had an influential role in the history of Tunisia, since 1662.
Oakden at the same time indicated that the Tunisian Parliament is in the process of putting in place a new trade agreement, which will aid reconstruct a closer relationship between the two states.
He also stressed the importance of exporting Tunisian olive oil to the UK without European competition, which can be a true asset for Tunisia.
