Tunisia- Noureddine Bhiri: Next prime minister must be above all suspicion of conflict of interest

Speaking to Mosaique FM, President of the Ennahda bloc Noureddine Bhiri called on the President of the Republic Kais Saied to start serious and deep consultations to form a new government to succeed that of Fakhfakh who has just presented officially his resignation.

Bhiri considered that the person who will be designated to form a new government should be able to unify Tunisians and rally the majority parties in parliament so that it can win the confidence of the elected officials. He added that the same personality should be credible and above all suspicion of corruption or conflict of interest.

He also said that the head of state need to opt for a different approach from that adopted when appointing the head of government, considering that the choice made on Elyes Fakhfakh was not successful. In this context, he said that national interest should be taken into account in consultations on the formation of the next government.
