Monastir regional health director Hammouda Babba today revealed the detection of the first infection with the new South African variant “Omicron” in the region.
This case was caught in a person returning from abroad (Republic of Congo) who came to Tunisia for treatment, according to the same source.
Babba even indicated to the correspondent of Tunisie Numérique that the latter was transferred to the Mahdia quarantine centre.
