The Free Destourian Party stated in a statement today that after the notice addressed to the public by the party leader, Abir Moussi, on “the abuses she is suffering inside the detention centre, which are reflected in intentionally not providing the required health care by the recommendations of the committee of specialist physicians at Al-Kassab Hospital, responsible for her health file, which has caused her health to decline and worsen the pain that constantly accompanies her on all personal, political and health levels, and condemns the intention of the authorities to harm her human being to undermine her morale and pressure her to reconsider her intellectual convictions.
The party furthermore calls on the administration to immediately implement the doctors’ recommendations, provide all the required logistical equipment and assistance conditions, and implement the medical protocol that guarantees the serious and effective treatment of the party chairwoman. The detention centre is legally responsible for any harm caused to Abir Moussi. It likewise holds the ruling candidate politically responsible for his physical safety.
It also revealed that it will organize a national march in solidarity with the party leader on Saturday, September 28, 2024, the location and time of which will be determined later.
