The executives and agents of the municipality of Tozeur, observed, this morning, a sit-in, in front of the seat of the governorate, to command the release of the mayor of the city, who had been imprisoned following a dispute with police officers.
For his part, the general secretary of the union of the police in Tozeur asserted that the mayor was detained, after he violently assaulted the police officers on duty last night, when he was entered the local police station, and tried to forcibly release his brother, who had been arrested shortly before, for having perpetrated a crime.
The policeman ensured that the assault on the policeman by the mayor was recorded and that he even ripped the official uniform of one of the officers.
