President Kais Saïed decided to grant special pardon to 919 detainees, on the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Revolution. Under this special pardon, 154 detainees will be freed and the rest will have their sentences decreased.
This decision was taken at a meeting of the President of the Republic with members of the special pardon commission on Wednesday Carthage presidential palace
The Head of State received the report on the results of the work of the special pardon committee which reviewed some 2350 prisoner files, said the Presidency of the Republic.
President Kaïs Saïed reemphasised at the meeting his commitment to evaluate the criteria adopted in granting a special pardon to uphold the values of justice and equity.
