Tunisia: President Kais Saïed reaffirms his support for farmers and his fight against corruption

President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, received this Monday, December 2, 2024, at the Carthage Palace, Prime Minister Kamel Madouri for a meeting focused on government initiatives, especially those associated with the agricultural sector.

This meeting provided an opportunity to take stock of the measures recently ordered by the Head of State, particularly in the areas of olive harvesting, oil storage and seed supply for farmers.

President Saïed reiterated that the Tunisian State, through all its establishments, remains firmly committed to farmers. He underlined that this support represents a natural role of the State, whether in the agricultural sector or other areas. In addition, he confirmed that Tunisia opposes and will continue to oppose all attempts at destabilization, extortion and the actions of the corrupt who, after having sowed disorder in the country, seek to present themselves as victims.

In a message to public officials, Kaïs Saïed hailed the vigilance of the Tunisian people, whom he described as having a deep conscience and an aspiration for a bright future. He insisted on the duty of officials to work to meet the expectations of the people and to fully invest themselves, regardless of their position, in a national liberation movement. According to the president, the primary criterion for selecting officials must be their total commitment to building a new history for Tunisia, breaking with the accumulations and pains of the past, and paving the way for the realization of the demands and hopes of the Tunisian people.

With this speech, Kaïs Saïed continues to position himself as a defender of transparent governance oriented towards popular aspirations.
