The President of the Republic, Kais Saied, welcomed today, Tuesday, March 15, 2022, Italian Minister of Defense, Mr Lorenzo Guerini.
During this meeting, the President of the Republic underlined Tunisia’s concern to further consolidate the historical ties of friendship that unite it with Italy, especially in terms of mutual support during the prior period to face the Covid-19 pandemic, and the development of collaboration and partnership in all areas, as well as the strengthening of the tradition of consultation and coordination between the two nations.
For his part, the Italian Minister of Defense repeated his country’s commitment to support Tunisia bilaterally, at the European level and with international donors, and to stand by its side to confront the challenges with which it is confronted.
This meeting was also a chance to address issues related to military cooperation between the two nations within the framework of the 23rd session of the Tunisian-Italian Military Committee, and to address the issue of irregular migration according to a new approach. common.
