The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, met on Friday at Carthage Palace with the Bulgarian ambassador in Tunis, Ms Slavena Gergova, on the occasion of the end of her mission in Tunisia.
The two parties underlined, on this occasion, the solidity of Tunisian-Bulgarian cooperation relations, in particular in the fields of medicine, commerce, sport and infrastructure.
They also emphasized the imperative to strengthen and diversify bilateral cooperation, especially in this context marked by the health and economic repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The President of the Republic called, in this context, to activate the principle of international solidarity to overcome the repercussions of this pandemic, while insisting on the strengthening of the role of youth in society.
For her part, Slavena Gergova praised the success of the democratic experience in Tunisia, while expressing her wish to see bilateral relations between the two countries develop further in the fields of the economy and higher education.
To this end, Bulgaria plans to grant university scholarships to Tunisian students.
