Tunisia-President Saied :The law is no exception and applies equally to everyone

The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, paid a visit on Monday to Tunis-Carthage airport, where he examined the working conditions in the different areas of the airport as well as the advancement of the procedures of travel.

During this visit, the head of the state reaffirmed that freedom of movement is always secured. “The goal of the exceptional measures is hardly to deprive Tunisians of their right to free movement,” he maintained. He evoked that individuals wanted by justice or who are the subject of suspicion of corruption are called upon to regularize their situation.

“The law is no exception and applies equally to everyone,” he emphasised. The Head of State emphasised that the travel restrictions and bans are “temporary ” and are not intended to deprive Tunisians of their right to travel. “These measures are meant for people suspected of corruption, terrorism and tax evasion,” he said, accentuating that the delicate situation currently facing the nation requires the implementation of such measures.
