Tunisia-President Saied:We will never accept that the water security of Egypt is compromised

President Kais Saied asserted Tunisia’s complete support for Egypt regarding the Renaissance Dam crisis.

Speaking at a joint press conference with his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, held this Saturday, April 10, 2021, in Cairo, the head of the state underscored Tunisia’s position alongside Egypt and its support for it to secure its right to the waters of the Nile.

He considered that the question of the Renaissance Dam is an issue of Arab national security, adding that “the national security of Egypt is relevant to the security of Tunisia”, and that “the stance of Cairo will be that of Tunisia ”.

“We will never accept that the water security of Egypt is compromised,” he emphasised.

The President of the Republic further indicated that there is a perfect concordance of views between the Tunisian and Egyptian parties on several regional issues, including the Libyan file.

In addition, Saied said he talked with his Egyptian counterpart about a number of issues, including the essential “to immunize our societies against extremism and movements that do not believe in the state or in the cohesion of societies. “And” to confront the dangers that target nations and societies.

He additionally insisted on the necessity to combine efforts to preserve state institutions and the cohesion of societies.
