House speaker Rached Ghannouchi welcomed the U.S. Ambassador in Tunis Donald Blome at Bardo palace.
During the meeting, Blome underscored his nation willingness to increase the volume of its assistance to Tunisia, a parliamentary statement said. He asserted determination to proceed supporting Tunisia in many areas, particularly health, to help combat the coronavirus. He further revealed the United States’ readiness to support small and medium businesses in Tunisia, through donations and aid. Furthermore, the US will help found alternative tourism, such as cultural tourism, to surmount the crisis in the sector.
On his part, In turn, The house Speaker emphasised the importance of attaining ways to develop Tunisian-American relationships, by stepping up investment, especially in value-added areas. The meeting was attended by the chair of the Committee on Rights, Freedoms and External Relations Sameh Dammak.
