Transport Minister Rachid Amri confirmed during a public dialogue session at the Council of Regions and Districts on Friday that the number of metro trains in operation had increased since he took office, from 11 to 27 across the six lines. He emphasized that work was continuing, bringing the total number of metro trains to 57.
The minister indicated that a call for tenders had been issued for the acquisition of 30 new 45-meter-long cars, specifying that their production would take two years.
Regarding buses, the minister indicated that the arrival of 300 buses from China for TRANSTU would take place in the first ten days of June.
