In an intervention on Monday, July 6, 2020, on Express FM, former Minister of Tourism, René Trabelsi, spoke about the tourism sector crisis in Tunisia following the pandemic.
He remarked grave errors in the management of crises by the Tunisian state. “With each crisis, the hotelier is left facing his employees. They need their wages and the employer has to pay his expenses while his establishment is stationary. ”
“Banks cannot lend money to hoteliers … So there demands a new policy, possibly even arranging a fund capable of taking on staff payments, for example, in the event of a crisis,” added René. Trabelsi.
