Speaking to Tunisie Numérique,Dr. Riad Daghfous, member of the Scientific Committee to Combat Coronavirus and Director General of the National Center for Pharmacovigilance, confirmed that no infection with the new variant of the Coronavirus “FLiRT” has been registered in Tunisia.
Dagfus pointed out that the symptoms of this variant, whose spread has been documented in the United States of America, do not differ from the rest of the COVID-19 variants, and are not more severe or dangerous, as the number of cases hospitalized due to infection has not seen any development or increase, in addition, the World Health Organization has not yet alerted of its danger and has not warned of new symptoms or remnants that may appear as a result of infection.
He also added that Tunisia is in the process of performing genetic cloning permanently, and to date no cases of infection have been recorded, underscoring that various parties around the world are in the process of monitoring the development of this mutant.
