President of the Republic, Kais Saied, welcomed Monday July 1, 2024, at Carthage Palace, Mr. Moncef Boukathir, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and interim minister of the Ministry of Affairs cultural.
The President of the Republic emphasised that cultural festivals must contribute to building a national culture and were created to improve public taste. The Carthage Theater and the Hammamet Theater, for example, were only open to high-level cultural works, and many stars abroad dreamed of appearing on these two stages because they considered it a recognition of their artistic value and even as a highlight of their career, unlike what occurs today in the two aforementioned festivals or many other festivals.
The President of the Republic highlighted that the promotion of culture is part of the national liberation movement that Tunisia is experiencing today, because there is no future for any country without the effective contribution of its creators and intellectuals, whose only concern is creativity, founded on free thought and a firm awareness of their role in the intellectual development of their societies.
