President of the Republic, Kais Saied, welcomed, this afternoon, Monday, September 23, 2024, at Carthage Palace Mr. Imed Derbali, president of the Council of Regions and Districts.
The meeting focused on the Council’s role in fostering political, economic, and social integration alongside the House of Representatives of the People. It was underscored that the primary responsibility of the State is to accomplish this much-needed integration. Those who have been excluded or marginalized must be actively involved in contributing to the development of legislation aimed at eliminating the root causes of exclusion and marginalization.
The head of the state examined with Derbali the main themes of the bill, which the President of the Republic tasked for preparing as soon as possible, relating to the granting of the status of local groups furthermore provided for in article 133 Of the Constitution for the local and regional councils from which the regional councils come, in addition to awarding a lucrative attendance scholarship so that the members of these councils can exercise their work in the best conditions.
