“Ken” cultural village owner Salaheddine Smaoui passed away yesterday, the Ministry of Cultural Affairs declared on its official page.
The “Ken” space is recognised for its participation in the promotion of traditional Tunisian products, including ceramics, furniture and traditional textiles (haik, linen, wool, etc.).
This business was of such significance to the late one that the latter went so far as to observe a hunger strike in 2012 when it discovered itself threatened with bankruptcy.
