University hospital professor of immunology at the Institut Pasteur in Tunis, Samar Sammoud has questioned the death tally published by the health ministry. She figured that the exact number of deaths due to Covid-19 is higher than that published by the ministry.
Sammoud similarly condemned the non-compliance with health measures and barrier gestures directed at fighting Covid-19, specifying that this type of behaviour will lead to a new record rate of coronavirus infections.
In addition, she said that the vaccination rate reached in Tunisia does not allow herd immunity to be achieved, particularly with the emergence of new strains.
