During a working session held on Monday, 1 December 2025, dedicated to monitoring tourism activity and chaired by Tourism Minister Soufiane Tekaya, it was decided to hold the second edition of the International Saharan and Oasian Tourism Fair on 30 and 31 January and 1 February 2026, in Tozeur.
This new edition will focus on promoting investment and enhancing the visibility of Saharan regions, particularly following the increase in accommodation capacity with the opening of two new tourist units in the area.
With regard to Saharan and Oasian tourism, authorities have intensified and diversified entertainment activities as well as tourist circuits dedicated to these zones.
“These efforts come after the rehabilitation of several sites, including Ong Jmel. The session also highlighted recent international rankings that underscored the excellence of Tunisian Saharan and Oasian tourism, now recognized as an upscale, rich and diverse destination,” the Ministry of Tourism noted.
This session is part of a rigorous monitoring approach to tourism activity and aims to ensure the sector is fully prepared ahead of school holidays and New Year celebrations, while strengthening coordination around the various events and activities planned during this period.
