Tension escalated this Wednesday, June 17, 2020 during a plenary session at the House of People’s Representatives.
Indeed, Seifeddine Makhlouf, president of the Al Karama bloc, displayed a portrait of former Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi.
The act sparked protests in parliament. Abir Moussi, president of the PDL bloc, deemed it to be a provocation. She reemphasised her rejection of any reference to the Muslim brothers in Tunisia.
Moussi’s position was supported by Osama Khelifi, president of the Qalb tounes bloc. He considered that displaying the portrait of Morsi by Makhlouf was a provocation for the Tunisians.
