Tunisia-Series of measures for the benefit of Tunisians living in Qatar

Foreign Minister Othman Jerandi, who met on Tuesday with members of the Tunis Embassy in Doha, revealed a series of measures aimed at easing access to consular services. It was essential to redouble efforts to improve the quality of services delivered to Tunisians living in Qatar and secure the best conditions for participation in the referendum as well as the Football World Cup that the country is hosting at the end of 2022.

Cited in a statement from the department released on Wednesday, Jerandi confirmed that a temporary work team has already travelled to Doha to assist consular staff in urgently resolving outstanding cases, in particular in relation to the issuance of identity and civil status documents.

The embassy staff has been consolidated with the assignment of new members representing the diplomatic, administrative and technical corps who will be in Doha within the next two days, he said. He revealed that Tunisians residing in Qatar can now withdraw civil status documents remotely, after the reinstallation of the “madania” application and the beginning of the consular file digitization operation. During the meeting, Jerandi insisted on the necessity to keep the central administration informed of unresolved issues and difficulties faced in order to ensure better services to Tunisians established in Qatar.
