Units of the Navy and the National Guard saved , on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, 51 irregular migrants who were on board a broken down boat off the Sfax coast.
According to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense, the rescued migrants related to having sailed from the coasts of Sidi Mansour to traverse the maritime borders and move towards the Italian coasts.
The migrants were transported to the fishing port of Sfax and handed over to the National Guard while a body was recovered from the area in question, said National Defense.
