Under the order of prime minister Hichem Mechichi, Minister of Public Service and interim Minister of Justice, Hasna Ben Slimane paid a visit on July 04, 2021to public health establishments in Sfax as part of the monitoring of the epidemiological situation.
Talking to the media, Ms Ben Slimane stated that the epidemiological situation is disturbing in the region. As a result, she declared the following emergency measures:
- Provision of urgent needs to pay for understaffed medical and paramedical crew
- The exploitation of medical business services
The minister likewise hailed the coordination between the various parties through which the regional authorities have decreased the number of infections and victims.
She believed Sfax region is an example to follow in terms of managing the health crisis, given that these hospitals have taken Covid patients from neighbouring governorates.
Concerning the vaccination campaign, Ms Ben Slimane revealed that the installation of new vaccination centres depends on the number of doses o in stock, adding that the current strategy intends to move to rural areas to vaccinate a larger number of people.
