Reflecting on the charges sustained by the Qalb Tounes party, in connection with the 18 invalid ballots, MP Shiraz Chebbi declared on Nessma TV that the vote was by secret ballot and that the deputies of Qalb Tounes did not photograph theirs.
She felt that to understand what really happened that day, it would have been better to look on the side of the deputies who signed the motion of No-confidence against Rached Ghannouchi. From an analysis of the positions they have held over the past month, we will surely understand their way of thinking and thus of voting, she added.
The MP also assured that no pressure has been put on party members in parliament from party chairman Nabil Karoui. She explained, in the same logic, that the only advice given by the latter was to be wary of the signatories of the motion, given their background.
Nabil Karoui also, according to Chebbi, advised his party’s deputies to be absent on the day of the session because he would have guessed that the signatories of the motion were going to betray each other, and then put everything on the backs of Qalb Tounes.
