Following information received by the security units of the Municipal Police Division of Sousse concerning a warehouse owner in the area holding a large quantity of potatoes, the aforementioned security units, along with officers from the National Security stations in Kalaa Kebira City and the municipal police station, coordinated with the Public Prosecutor’s Office and checked the said warehouse. During the operation, more than 10 tons of potatoes were seized.
After consulting with the Public Prosecutor at the Court of First Instance of Sousse, an authorization was issued to apprehend the warehouse owner and confiscate the goods on charges of “monopoly and speculation.”
The Public Prosecutor likewise authorized the continuation of investigations into the matter.
