The mother of a 9-year-old girl from Sousse confirmed that a surveillance camera recorded a man trying to kidnap her daughter and her classmates by luring them into his vehicle on their way to school. In an interview with Al-Jawhara FM, she explained that the incident happened in a densely populated neighbourhood where surveillance cameras are installed in nearly every home.
The footage reportedly reveals the man not only attempting to lure the children into his car but also intentionally harassing and exposing himself to them, which shocked the children and caused them to flee to their school. The mother filed a complaint following the incident, leading to the suspect’s identification. Nevertheless, he remains at large and is currently wanted by authorities.
An official also reported a separate incident involving a woman and three children who were injured when a malfunctioning door failed to close properly, resulting in falls that left the children with fractures and bruises. They were transferred to Charles Nicolle Hospital for treatment.
