Sidi Bouali Mayor (Sousse Governorate) was struck by hooded people with paralyzing gas and a razor blade in their face, said Sousse 2 court spokeswoman Imen Ben Hmida.
She stated that the Mayor and a person accompanying it were attacked on their way out of the mosque.
The Mayor’s wound required two stitches, while his companion’s injury required 20 stitches.
An investigation was opened by the national guard.
