Tunisia–South Korea: Strategic partnership deepened in digital transformation and artificial intelligence

    On Thursday, January 8, 2026, Tunisia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Mohamed Ali Nafti, received Jong Bae Lee, President of the Korea–Tunisia Parliamentary Friendship Group, who is paying an official visit to Tunisia accompanied by members of the group.

    During the meeting, the Tunisian minister praised the strong level reached by relations of friendship and cooperation between Tunisia and the Republic of Korea since their establishment. He reaffirmed Tunisia’s commitment to further strengthening this partnership, particularly in high-value sectors such as information and communication technologies, digital services, artificial intelligence, digital health, scientific research, and higher education.

    The minister also highlighted the positive impact of Tunisian–Korean cooperation on the development of strategic sectors and key public services, notably administrative digitalization, human capital development, start-up creation, and good governance.

    In this context, he cited successful joint projects including TUNEPS, which focuses on the digitalization of public procurement systems, and TLIS, aimed at modernizing Tunisia’s land registry through digital solutions. He further commended the pivotal role played by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in sustaining and expanding this cooperation over the past three decades.
