The Ukrainian Embassy in Tunisia declared in an official statement published on its Facebook page that Ambassador Volodymyr Khomanets met with Foreign Minister Othman Jerandi, in the attendance of the heads of the diplomatic missions of Poland and Romania.
During this meeting, the Ukrainian embassy confirmed that Othman Jerandi denounced the armed attack of Russia against Ukraine and “supported” the territorial integrity of the Ukrainian state. It d indicate that Ambassador Volodymyr Khomanets about the start of a large-scale military invasion of Russia in Ukraine, about the protection of the Ukrainian people from their independence, and the importance of solidarity with Ukraine.
So far the Department of Foreign Affairs in Tunisia has not remarked on the statement. Remember that the Tunisian Head of State, Kais Saied, limited himself to cite, during the Ministerial Council yesterday Thursday, the repatriation of Tunisians to Ukraine; he made no mention of the Russian invasion and even less condemned the actions of Russia…
So far no official response clearly assumed by Tunisia. So the question: Until when will we fall back on foreign partners to know the positions of Tunis, particularly on subjects as important as a conflict of this dimension?
