The spokesperson for the Directorate General of the National Guard, Colonel-Major Houssam Eddine Jebabli, affirmed that, in the context of the hunt for elements suspected of religious extremism, the search and inspection brigade of the district of the National Guard in Manouba and the National Guard post of Douar Hicher succeeded, after an ambush, in arresting a takfiri element.
Jebabli explained that the arrested person is wanted for the benefit of the court of first instance of Tunis 1 for his involvement in a terrorist case in which he had received a sentence in absentia of 3 years in prison.
Legal measures have been taken against him, said the same source.
