Tunisia targets 500 community companies in 2027, with funding for 250

Tunisia’s government aims to increase the number of community companies to 500 in 2027 and provide funding for 250 of them, according to the document outlining the country’s 2027 economic budget plan.

These targets are part of a broader strategy to develop the community-company sector, strengthen its contribution to job creation and promote collective entrepreneurship. The government also plans to improve the conditions for establishing and supporting these companies and facilitate their transition to operational activity, with the aim of ensuring their long-term sustainability and contribution to wealth creation.

    Improving business creation and support

According to the document, the government intends to improve the ecosystem for community companies by facilitating access to financing and markets.

These measures are designed to help companies overcome the challenges they face during the establishment and launch phases, while strengthening their ability to sustain operations, create jobs and achieve their economic and social objectives.

New financing mechanisms and diversified funding sources

The planned measures include strengthening the dedicated financing facility for community companies and establishing a self-financing facility using resources from the National Employment Fund.

The government also intends to conclude agreements with financial institutions and diversify funding sources. These initiatives aim to provide financing mechanisms tailored to the needs of community companies and help them implement their projects and begin operations.

Administrative, legal, technical and financial support

The 2027 economic budget plan also provides for the preparation of a support programme and a guide covering administrative, legal, technical and financial matters.

The initiative aims to provide beneficiaries with the necessary guidance and help them overcome obstacles that could hinder their projects. It is also intended to support entrepreneurs throughout the establishment process and facilitate the transition from project planning to actual business activity.

Digital platform to promote products and services

Another planned measure is the development of a dedicated digital marketing system to improve the promotion of products and services offered by community companies and expand their access to markets.

Through these initiatives, the government seeks to strengthen the community-company sector by improving financing opportunities, business support and marketing channels, while increasing its contribution to employment and wealth creation.
