Tunisia – They steal rental cars to sell them in neighboring country

Following intelligence provided by agents of the Tajerouine National Guard district (Kef governorate), which reported the presence of suspicious cars bearing foreign mining numbers inside a warehouse in the Tajerouine region, a joint patrol comprising different units of the National Guard of Tajerouine searched the warehouse. During the operation, two cars with foreign registration plates were seized, and four people were subsequently apprehended.

 
 
 
 
 

It turned out that the cars were Tunisian and had been robbed after being rented and the license plate numbers had been changed in an attempt to smuggle them to a neighboring country.

After examination, the public prosecutor authorized their arrest and took the necessary measures concerning them, according to the general direction of the National Guard.
