Spokesperson for the Independent High Authority for Elections(ISIE), Tlili Mnasri told Tunisie Numérique, that “the ISIE has done its duty and the participation rate in the second round of the legislative elections is close to that registered in the first round”.
Mnasri added that the electoral body provided all the required legislative and logistical conditions. He added that the Commission is mandated to submit reports on the percentage of participation within 3 months.
“the Commission carries out a share of responsibility in the low participation rates, but it is likewise a collective responsibility, including the change in the voting system in addition to the impact of the economic and political situation, So many elements have led to a drop in Tunisian electoral participation in the ballot boxes ”,he said.
