Tunisia: TND 13 million allocated to equip three public institutions with photovoltaic systems

The joint decree issued on 27 November 2025 by the Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy and the Minister of Transport, implementing the energy transition programme in public institutions, was published today in the Official Gazette.

The programme aims to equip three public institutions with photovoltaic systems to generate electricity from solar energy for self-consumption and/or to carry out operations to improve the energy efficiency of their buildings.

The institutions concerned are: the building of the Presidency of the Government located in Bab Laassal in Tunis; the Official Printing Office of the Tunisian Republic in Ben Arous; and the Civil Aviation and Airports Authority under the Ministry of Transport in Tozeur.

The objective is to reduce energy demand and lower the public subsidies allocated to energy products.

The cost of this phase of the programme amounts to thirteen million dinars, financed through a loan and a grant from the German Development Bank, as well as resources from the Energy Transition Fund.
