Tunisia: Tourism Revenues Exceed $2 Billion as of September 20, 2026

In Tunisia, tourism activity has continued to grow, maintaining its positive trajectory

Tourism revenues reached 6,093.3 million dinars as of September 20, equivalent to approximately $2 billion according to monetary and financial indicators published Thursday by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT).

Tourism revenues rose by 4.7%, increasing from 5,820.5 million dinars on September 20, 2025, to 6,093.3 million dinars on September 20, 2026.

Recently, the Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts said that the ministry had launched a programme aimed at promoting the cultural heritage of different regions through an approach based on the principle of “one region, one product.” The objective is to turn local assets into marketable and competitive tourism products, experiences and itineraries.

The key challenge is to assess the tangible impact of tourism on the economy and the regions, particularly through foreign-currency revenues, investment and job creation.

It is worth recalling that Tunisia has been designated the Arab Tourism Capital for 2027. A dedicated programme has been developed with the Union of Arab States Radio and Television Organisations to promote the country’s different regions, their distinctive characteristics and their tourism itineraries.

The campaign will notably rely on digital platforms, tourism-focused digital startups, content creators, journalists and artists to enhance the visibility of Tunisia as a tourism destination.
