Tunisia-Trade deficit worsens to 13.3 billion dinars end of October

Tunisia’s trade deficit decayed to 13.3 billion dinars in the first 10 months of 2021, versus 10.7 billion dinars during the corresponding period last year, reads the monthly report on Foreign Trade at Constant Prices by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

As such, the coverage percentage lost 0.4 points to 74% as opposed to the same period last year. The worsening of the deficit is demonstrated by the 21.6% increase in imports compared to exports (+20.9%).

Actually, imports reached 51.2 billion dinars, while exports did not surpass 37.8 billion dinars at the end of October 2021, according to the INS statistics.

During the same period last year, imports stood at 42.1 billion dinars and exports at 31.3 billion dinars.
