Today, May 15, 2024, marks the 76th anniversary of Nakba Day, an occasion by which we evoke the resilience of the brave Palestinian people and their decades-long struggles in facing the brutal occupation to achieve their legitimate aspirations of living in freedom and dignity within an independent and sovereign State established on the whole territory of Palestine,reads a statement by the ministry of foreign affairs.
As we commemorate this occasion, we are deeply concerned with regard to the crimes against humanity, war of systematic genocide and attempts of abuse and displacement perpetrated by the repressive occupying forces against the Palestinian civilians in Gaza strip and by the settlers’ bandits in the West Bank without the slightest accountability. These acts represent a flagrant and unprecedented violation of all international charts as well as human and moral values.
With deep respect and reverence, Tunisia stands today for the heroic resilience of the brotherly Palestinian people, who, alone, is facing the arrogance, tyranny and the military arsenal of the occupying entity. All this occurs in stunned and shameful silence of the international community. The Palestinian people is, therefore, drawing new historical epic in its ongoing struggle to regain its occupied lands and restore its legitimate historical rights.
Tunisia reiterates its unconditional support for the fraternal Palestinian people in defending their inalienable and imprescriptible right and reaffirms its firm and pro-Palestinian stance in self-determination and in their struggle for the full restoration of their legitimate historical rights and the establishment of their State throughout the full land of Palestine, with Al-Quds Al- Sharif as its capital,adds the same source.
