Tunisia- Tunisia condemns Quran burning in Sweden

Tunisia denounced the act perpetrated by Swedish extremists who burned copies of the Holy Quran. This is a provocation of the feelings of all Muslims in the world, stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement made public on Monday, January 23, 2023.

Tunisia confirmed that this kind of despicable act has no relationship with freedom of expression. Rather, it is an attack on common universal principles of human rights and an incitement to violence and hatred.

Tunisia cautions against the seriousness of this rejected and condemned practice while calling for the necessity to make efforts to promote the values of tolerance and coexistence of religions and respect for the sacred and holy books.
