Tunisia-Tunisia reaffirms its commitment to AMU as a strategic choice (MFA)

On the 33rd anniversary of the creation of the Arab Maghreb Union (AMU), Tunisia expressed its pride at this historic achievement, reaffirming its constant attachment to the AMU as a strategic choice.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad on Wednesday evening, Tunisia reiterated its “permanent concern to work with all the brotherly Maghreb countries to further consolidate the bonds of brotherhood, cooperation and partnership in all areas.»

The aim is to give a fresh impetus to the Union and to provide the means to face the multiple challenges and meet the challenges of development, progress, security and stability.

Based on the firm conviction in the s hared destiny of countries in the region, Tunisia stresses the importance of combining all efforts to overcome the difficulties and allow the common Maghreb action to rise to the highest levels and achieve the aspirations of the Maghreb peoples to more cohesion and complementarity, the statement added.

The Arab Maghreb Union was created on February 17, 1989. Its member countries are Algeria, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania and Tunisia.
